612 Press Release

PTX-Pentronix, Inc., of Lincoln Park, MI. recently introduced the Multipak 612 Powder Compacting Press. The Multipak 612 is a 6 ton, 3-mode press. It retains all of the features of its predecessor, the Mulitpak 602, but operates at speeds 25% faster than the 602.

The Multipak 612 is capable of pressing parts in the anvil mode, conventional upper and lower punch mode and in a combination of the two. It is currently being used in high volume production of complex precision compacts in the Ceramic and Powder Metal Industries worldwide.

The Multipak 612 Press was introduced in 1997 at the American Ceramic Society Exposition, the International Conference on Powder Metallurgy and at the Ceramic Industry Manufacturing Conference & Exposition. The Multipak 612 was demonstrated at the above shows while attached to a PTX Multi-Loader, which allows pressing and offloading of compacts from the press to sintering or firing plates, at a high rate equal to press speed.
