New Multipak 1204 VFD

The Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) and motor combination has replaced the US Motors Vari-drive currently used on the 1204 press models. The variable frequency drives offer some features previously unavailable on the 1204 models. Features are as follows:

  • Provides a Press jog, independent from run speed.
  • Solid state, beltless motor/drive is more reliable.
  • Reverse jogging of the press.
  • Digital display of mainshaft speed (strokes/min).
  • Electronic braking provides "instant" stop.
  • Hour meter and other diagnostic functions.
  • Speed is adjusted via a keypad, rather than the removal of the front press base panel.
  • Standard power requirements are 230 or 460 volts, 3-phase, 50Hz or 60Hz. Other power requirements, including single-phase, are optional.
  • Does not require the press to be exercised through the full speed range daily.
In addition to the new drive and motor the Multipak 1204 VFD also includes these new features:

  • Additional safety guards.
  • Safety interlocks with monitoring circuit.
  • "CE" option available.

Existing Multipak 1204 presses can be retrofitted to the new Multipak 1204 VFD configuration.
